Welcome to Essex Communtity Services. We are a registered charitable organization providing community services to the residents of the municipality of Essex and the surrounding areas since 1975.
The Essex and District Social Planning Council was formed in 1975 by a group of concerned citizens in the Town of Essex and surrounding municipalities to resolve some of the community's unmet needs. In November 2002, our name was changed to Essex Community Services.
Our agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Approximately 40 volunteers participate on committees or assist with direct service each year. Our clients include men, women, children, families, frail elderly, low income individuals of all ages, physically and mentally challenged persons, as well as the unemployed and under-employed.
Over the years, our organization has developed several programs and services as a result of the process of assessing the expressed needs of our residents. We are also a point of access to a variety of services which otherwise would not be available locally.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
